P4: Social Media Pages

Social Media

This is a social media page for the advertisement campaign for my BBC Three television series 'Pigeon Hunt'. The purpose for the social media page was to reach out to a larger demographic of audience without using much of the overall budget. Using social media I am able to promote photo's, videos, dates and content for free which will reach out to many people which they will be able to share with friends and spread the name of 'Pigeon Hunt'. Having a specific page where viewers can visit numerous times will give them a sense of series, a vibe that offers the themes and content that the series will contain.

Here I posted on the page as a reminder for the release date to the audience to make sure they don't lose interest in the series or forget about its release. Giving the audience constant reminders will build up hype for the series, preparing them for its official release date which they will know about.

A key part of drawing in the audience and giving them a pre sense of the series was choosing the right backgrounds for the page. Here I used the same title which will be used continuously throughout advertisement as a brand label. But as well I used a larger scale image for my background which is the same of that in my posters. The bleak image will give the audience a sense for the series' themes, but also introduce the world that 'Pigeon Hunt' revolves from, engaging them to the story and context for the series.

It was key to make sure all details in the blog were relevant yet didn't give too much away. I used a brief description to add to the mystery of the story and characters which mirrors what 'Pigeon Hunt' is all about. Uncertainty in a world, and mystery leading into fear.

I also created some posts as the characters which would give the audience a larger insight to the world of the series and get to know the characters more. It also offers alternate ideas perhaps not included within the series itself such as here, character motives and inner thought tracks. The Facebook page is another platform the audience can potentially learn more about characters and become more attached to them becoming very engaged with the series as a whole.
